L-sit
L-sit is a strength discipline in BYOH, trained with household and building core and arms. Its ladder runs from 5 sec at Level 1 to 60+ sec at Level 9, and Level 10 is the world record.
The ten levels
BYOH measures a discipline in ten cleared levels. Level 9 is a genuine feat; Level 10 is the standing world record, which is there to be looked at rather than reached.
L-sit starts at Level 1 with 5 sec. Level 5 asks for 25 sec, and Level 9 - the last level a person can train towards - 60+ sec. The largest single jump is from Level 6 to Level 7, 30 sec to 40 sec.

The record past Level 9
L-sit — Provisional legend benchmark.
Governed L-sit holds are set on different apparatus and leg positions, so BYOH prints no gate it cannot compare. This is a provisional benchmark rather than a governed record.
How it is done
- Place two sturdy chairs, parallettes or a pair of boxes just wider than the hips.
- Press down to straight arms and lift both legs straight out in front, level with the floor.
- Hold without letting the heels drop or the shoulders shrug up to the ears.
How the attempt is judged
A level only means something if two heroes clearing it have done the same thing. These are the rules BYOH counts an attempt by — they are the rules of a game, not coaching.
- What counts as one
- One continuous hold on straight arms with both legs straight and level with the floor, timed from the moment the legs are up.
- The set
- A single hold. There is no pause: the clock and the attempt end together.
- What you need
- Two sturdy chairs, parallettes or boxes that will not tip, just wider than the hips, and high enough that the heels clear the floor.
- What ends it
- The heels dropping below the hips, a foot touching the floor or the chairs, or the arms bending, ends the hold.
What it builds
L-sit feeds Core and Arms in a hero’s record, working abdominals, hip flexors, triceps.
- Anterior bracing
- Triceps
- Shoulders
L-sit is one of 41 strength disciplines. It shares its household requirement with 11 other strength disciplines. Core is also built by plank, side plank, farmer carry and 7 more, and a broad attribute needs several of them rather than one taken far.
