The record past Level 9
Archer push-up — Provisional legend benchmark.
No governed body counts archer push-ups, and how far the straight arm reaches changes the movement too much to compare two sets without a shared standard. This is a provisional benchmark rather than a governed record.
How it is done
- Set the hands about twice shoulder width, fingers turned slightly out.
- Lower towards one hand, bending that arm while the other stays straight.
- Press back to the middle, then lower to the other side. One to each side is one repetition.
How the attempt is judged
A level only means something if two heroes clearing it have done the same thing. These are the rules BYOH counts an attempt by — they are the rules of a game, not coaching.
- What counts as one
- One repetition is lowered to one side, chest within a fist of that hand, and pressed back to the middle, then the same to the other side.
- The set
- One unbroken set. You may pause in the supported position for as long as you like; the set ends the moment you leave it.
- What you need
- Hands about twice shoulder width on a firm flat surface. The supported position is the top, both arms straight.
- What ends it
- Bending the straight arm to help, a knee touching the floor, or a side skipped, does not count.
What it builds
Archer push-up feeds Chest and Arms in a hero’s record, working chest, triceps, shoulders.
- Pressing strength
- Press control
- Triceps
- Lateral & rotational
- Shoulders
- Anterior bracing
Archer push-up is one of 41 strength disciplines. It shares its bodyweight requirement with 15 other strength disciplines. Chest is also built by push-ups, dumbbell bench press, barbell bench press and 5 more, and a broad attribute needs several of them rather than one taken far.
